Aparentemente, parece óbvio. Internet das Coisas (Internet of Things – IoT) refere-se a qualquer objeto que possa ser conectado à internet e com outros aparelhos (explicamos direitinho neste post do que se trata). Já Internet de Tudo (Internet of Everything – IoE) engloba tudo que tenha a mesma capacidade. Apesar dos conceitos claros, falando em voz alta, não parece fazer muito sentido, concorda? Afinal, o que seria esse “tudo” se não os próprios dispositivos a que se refere a nomenclatura mais usual?
“A verdade é que os conceitos são realmente muito parecidos e estão relacionados exatamente à mesma coisa. A diferença está na abrangência. Enquanto o IoT engloba apenas os aparelhos em si como geladeira, ar-condicionado, câmeras e todos os outros que possam enviar e receber dados por meio de sistemas de comunicação, a IoE vai além ao considerar não apenas os objetos como também os dados que circulam, as pessoas e os processos que estão envolvidos diretamente com o universo de dispositivos inteligentes e conectados”, detalha o IoT Advidor da iotrix, Adolfo Brandão.
ORIGEM DA IOE
Apesar de ser uma evolução natural da “Internet das Coisas”, a origem do termo “Internet de Tudo” é constantemente associada às estratégias de marketing da gigante de tecnologia Cisco. Não vai ser difícil encontrar por aí notícias que falem que a Cisco criou a expressão IoE para garantir seu lugar ao sol nas ferramentas de busca pelo tema. Afinal, competir com IoT se mostrava uma tarefa bem mais árdua.
Suposições de lado, “Internet of everything” abrange quatro fatores fundamentais. Além das coisas/objetos (things) propriamente ditos, inclui pessoas, dados e processos. O termo, portanto, vai além dos dispositivos físicos ao abarcar todo o ecossistema de conectividade que gira em torno desse universo.
Já falamos muito sobre o fator “coisas” em outros posts, por isso, vamos nos ater aos três outros elementos que integram o conceito.
Pessoas
Basicamente são elas que fazem essa engrenagem girar. É para satisfazer necessidades do usuário e criar novas experiências que este mercado evolui constantemente, além do fato de que são esses mesmos usuários que fornecem os dados que alimentam os dispositivos.

Multiplicados exponencialmente com o advento da IoT, os dados são fundamentais para proporcionar a inteligência inerente aos dispositivos conectados. “A coleta, análise e processamento das informações por meio de analytics e computação cognitiva constitui a alma da Internet de Tudo. Somente por meio da geração desses dados é que os aparelhos são capazes de proporcionar experiências únicas aos usuários, facilitar a tomada de decisões e aumentar o controle dos mecanismos, garantindo resultados mais relevantes”, acrescenta o IoT Advisor da iotrix.
Processos
É o pilar da IoE que considera o valor que todo esse ecossistema gera para pessoas e empresas. São, portanto, os benefícios que os sensores podem trazer para as indústrias, por exemplo, ou os impactos que os aparelhos de rastreamento de atividades físicas têm sobre a saúde.
“Trata-se de estabelecer os processos adequados que possam aumentar a relevância das relações e aumentar o valor gerado. É como a Cisco costuma dizer: a informação correta entregue para a pessoa ou dispositivo correto no momento certo e da forma mais apropriada possível”, resume Adolfo.
“Portanto, IoE parece considerar IoT e o seu contexto, onde estão seus outros pilares além das coisas: pessoas, processos e dados. Assim sendo, vai além dos termos mais ligados a IoT como M2M, hardware e software embarcado, permitindo melhor integração entre IoT e arquiteturas corporativas e industriais, processos sociais e cidades inteligentes”, acrescenta Adolfo.
